Good food - Poor Service
The food was good, but the service was not worth the price. We sat for 10 minutes before water and a server greeted us. The server was unfriendly and seemed annoyed. We may try this restaurant again because the food was above average, but we have been reluctant to eat there again because of the service.

Movie and a Great Dinner!
Especially convenient since it is right next to the DavisTheater, but regardless of whether you make it a Dinner and a Movie, or just dinner, this is such a refreshing difference from the norm of Italian restaurants in Chicago. Dishes are relatively light--even the pasta dishes--and attention to the quality of ingredients is what really stands out here. Dishes are simple, but as mentioned, it is the exemplary quality of the ingredients that make the dishes as great as they are. My husband and I get cravings for the arugula, mozzarella di bufalo, and granny smith apple salad. Such a simple combination of ingredients, but it is so refreshing and wonderful. The duck breast ravioli is wonderful, as is the spaghetti carbonara--Something so seemingly common is really done right here, with the crispy pancetta and cramy texture. Nice and accessible wine list; by the glass is a little limited, but everything is nice. Extensive bottle list. Dessert is great (wonderful gelatos!), and the sidewalk cafe in summer is great for watching the neighbors pass by. Inside is very simple, but you almost feel like you're in a neighborhood joint in Northern Italy. We love this place.
