    You can't join your party...

Pros: Mighty tasty burgers, patio seating, some parking available in front, hipster environment Cons: Service- I got there a little after the rest of my party, asked the overworked waitress for water and was given the leukwarm water that had been sitting on the table next to my friend (yes, my friend's water was literally taken from him and given to me), even worse, they slacked on refilling the water so my other friend actually had to bum sips of water off of me cause hers was all finished! They never brought me silverware and after dropping mayo on my pants and haphazardly trying to split my burger I went inside to grab some, the only problem -- it's behind the bar and no one really cares to try to help you, but will give you the evil eye when you try to get it yourself. Food- two of the members of our group had their burgers cooked incorrectly, sent back and then brough out hodgepodged versions later. My other friend had cold fries on her plate. Speaking of fries, could they be any more over cooked and salted? At least they're hand made, I guess. I was expecting a bit more at a base price of ~$10/burger Policy- One of the other members in our group came a little late, we had moved to make space for her (she's a petite female) and the hostess came back and apologetically stated that she wasn't able to join us. It was the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE situation I had ever been in. Our friend who never goes out greeting us with a warm smile only to turn to frown. It was really sad and totally put a crimp on our group outing. It wasn't even like it was packed that night. there were 3 open tables and plenty more inside. this place could be better with increased staffing and less stringent guidelines.

    overrated and trendy

i've given this place 3 tries and have yet to be impressed. the first time i had mac n cheese, which was bland and forgettable. granted it's mac n cheese, but come on - i can easily make better at home. the second time i had a veggie burger, and it was dry and tasteless, as was the bun. the 3rd time i went i had a chicken sandwich, and again, it was boring! the buns here are NOT good at all, and i definitely changed up the "type" of sandwich i had (like a black sabbath, neurosis, or iron maiden), but it was all just "eh". one might say "well you didn't ever eat a burger", which is valid i guess, but my friend ate an actual burger, and she even said it was just "ok". the atmosphere is fine, the wait staff is nice, and they have an extensive beer list, but the food leaves much to be desired.

    overpriced appetizers, good burgers

The music was really loud - the treble was ridiculously high so the entire time there was just abrasive noises (I like a lot of the songs they play, so this has nothing to do with the content). The service was really slow. We ordered the chicken tenders appetizer which was 8 or 9 dollars and there were 4 large tenders. 4. Which is totally ridiculous considering how much this cost and how little chicken costs. The burgers were delicious. Fries totally sucked: really flaccid and greasy and dense. I wanted something crispy and tender. Good thing I didn't get the Slayer burger since it's a 1/2 pound burger on top of a pile of fries. Service was unbearably slow but I think we went at the wrong time. Go for the burgers, but try to get in and out fast!

SO YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR THIS?!

Apparently the person that suggested that the reviews posted are the employees reads alot of conspiracy novels, lives in the basement of their grandparents house, doesn't know value and eats McDonald's for lunch every day. Kuma's Burgers are REDICULOUS!!! I had the SLAYER burger and I have to say my arteries loved it but my cardiologist was super mad at me. I mean the menu tells us that the Slayer burger's main ingredient is ANGER. My friends had the Iron Maiden and others but none of the plates were as angry as the one in front of me. Fresh ingredients right down to the avacado slices, resonable prices for each entree, the calamari was bitchin' and the beer was delicious. The options were endless. Somebody needs a napkin that's for sure. AWESOME- even though it's usually packed full of people. Get a life if you don't love this place.

    WOW

Wow..... I took a step out of my element thinking I was going to hate this place and I turned out loving it! Everyone sitting at the bar was so social and the drink selctions were everything besides the ordinary! The food was to die for beats a lot of expensive places in Chicago. Can't wait to go back!!! It will def. be a place where I will be sending out of town guest.

    Fine place

Does anyone suspect that these other reviews were written by people who own or work at Kuma's? It's a fine place, but it's not the gourmet extravaganza that these other reviews are making out to be.

Great food! and good beer too

Great food at a bar? YES, even if you don't drink beer, come in just for the food. Its that good! Must try Kuma burger with fried egg on the burger. Pasta, mac and cheese (goumet) are all good.
