Sleek and Modern
Great little sushi place; so glad we stumbled across it while in search of a late-night (post-opera, actually!) meal. The decor and atmosphere of the place is sort of sleek, modern "lounge"... with a nevertheless very intimate feel. If you're the "adventurous" type, you should definitely give their special maki rolls a try-- I highly recommend the strawberry maki (fresh strawberry, tempura flakes, and spicy tuna, just to name a few of the delicious ingredients!) and the Hawaiian (macadamia nuts!).

Great Seaweed Salad!!
We went to Izumi after finding that our typical West Loop spot was not opened. What a great thing to have stumbled on! We had seaweed salad that was perfectly dressed. Also had the Spicy Bullet (cooked sushi), Philadelphia Rolls, Spicy Tuna and the Shrimp Tempura Roll (amazing!). My only gripe is that the Philly rolls had avacado instead of cucumber, wchich I have seen before, but it's definitely not the way a Philly roll should be. The staff was all very attentative and friendly. Definitely a place to check out.

Best Sushi in West Loop
Atmosphere, employees, food, and location make this restaurant a hidden Gem in the West Loop. Hidden between Randolph with all the over-rated pricey places, this sushi restaurant provides a great menu at a remarkable value. The owners are extremely nice and always very welcoming! Try the White Tiger Roll!
