Finally Great Food and Excellent Service

Isla is my favorite Filipino restaurant, that says a lot since I never had a favorite. I usually just like to have a Halo-Halo when I go to a Filipino restaurant. It's unfair to compare Isla's Halo-halo condiment-wise to Halo-halo which I discovered at a popular Filipino restaurant in the West coast which originates from Manila, but Isla does have by far the most beautiful Halo-Halo I've ever hada work of art! Isla's Halo-Halo wont disappoint when you have a craving for it in the Midwest! All the dishes I've tried were good but my all-time favorite meal at Isla is the Daing na Bangus (sun-dried boneless milkfish)again great presentation. I also recently had something I could not find on this site menu, it was some curry seafood dish which I thought was unique, which would probably be my 2nd favorite dish. Enjoy the beautiful art work by local artist on the walls. Pleasant atmosphere, service, and personnel. Shared Parking lot. Don't eat the paper inside the unique fortune-type cookie roll surprise served at the end of your meal (like my friend did)...well I guess it's not a surprise anymore :)

the best filipino restaurant in chitown

My friend and I were looking for a restaurant that serves Filipino food. We found this restaurant along Lawrence Ave. The first thing that we noticed was that the place was so clean and very homey. We ordered their eggplant tower, Calamari, fresh lumpia and mixed adobo. The guy who served Our food was awesome, he’s really nice and very friendly. Everything is DELICIOUS and well presented. I love love love the mixed adobo…The best!!! I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends. And YES! I would definitely go back and the next time we go there, we’ll try the grilled squid, Prawns and their kingfish w/ arroz cubana.
