Used to be good food, and attentive, friendly service. For all recent visits, the naan is rubbery, chicken quality lower, overall food taste and quality indifferent - and indifferent service. I used to be a regular but have quit going unless I am desperate for Indian food.

My husband and I love indian food and came here for the 1st time. We had chicken mahkni and chicken korma- the sauce was very flavorful and tangy-more tang than your run of the mill indian place-which we enjoyed! HOWEVER - the chicken was of poor quality-was fatty, had skin on it - I spent more time picking apart at my chicken than I did eating my meal! Due to this, I did not have the best experience...The bread was fine-we had naan and roti ...Overall, we will not be coming back to this restaurant and will continue searching for an indian place that can serve quality chicken pieces in tasty sauces!! If you choose to try this restaurant-I recommend ordering something like the tandori chicken which looked like nicer pieces of meat when I saw it on someone else's plate...

I'm an Indian and I think this is the best Indian restaurant in the area. The food always tastes consistently the same and the naan, as well as other breads, are the best I have ever eaten. Great place for a very filling lunch - I highly recommend it.

India grill is by far the best Indian food I have had in Chicago, aside from one spot on Devon. I have been there several times and tried a variety of dishes. Their portions are not huge but very flavorful and worth the money. It is BYOB. The service is great. They don't charge you extra for rice. The owner has been there everytime I have gone in. Everything tastes very fresh. The decor is no-frills. The music can be intense but not really annoying.

We are downstaters with a weekend condo in the city. Over the past year we have changed from trying different places each evening to always dining at the Indian Grill each weekend, usually Saturdays, and trying something else if our schedule allows. The food is terrific. Great naan (we get onion), every dish is excellent ( chicken curry for me, the Indian Grill apetizer for my wife) and a good bottle of Bordeaux we bring is about as perfect as it gets.(no corkage fee!). As good as the food is the staff, all of whom we have come to know quite well, and the place has a great atmosphere. The place is predictably good.

These guys really know what they are doing. They do the same thing over and over again with dependable consistency and freshness. The service is attentive and Ram the chef's son knows how to run a classy restaurant. And I am glad they are BYOB!! Try the Sheekh Kabob. It is heavenly.

This place is amazing. Extrordinary food, service and value. Whoever thinks this place is too expensive should either move out of the city, head back to the burbs, or stop eating out! YOUR NOT IN INDIA,JUST IN CHICAGO EATING INDIAN FOOD! They have to pay for Chicago expenses and maintain the highest standards of quality to keep customers coming back. The average tab for two people is $15 pp, thats with an appetizer. If you go here, you really should try the chicken tikka masala or the chicken vindaloo. Two amazing dishes that you can not go wrong with here. The vegetable curry is a nice complement t either one of these dishes. We eat here at least twice a month and are always impressed.
