Truly, this is as good as it gets. My husband and I dined here on our anniversary, and talked about the experience all the way home that nite. What can you say about Hugo's that isn't superlative? The wait staff, food, drinks...even the carrot cake which was comp'd when management heard it was our anniversary...everything was true perfection. Believe me, I don't use that word very often but for Hugo's it fits. Let me add, we've been coming here for over ten years! How do they do it?

Ate here twice on a recent visit to Chicago. I had scoped out the best seafood reccomendations in town and picked Hugos. On my first visit, a fri night at 930 the place was quite crowded but was able to get a seat at the bar. I started with drinks and at first the bartender Brett(?) was a little standoffish but warmed up when I asked for a menu. Not being overly hungry I ordered just the crabcakes and a side of chipotle roasted corn. The crabcakes were exceptional, alot of crab meat in there, cooked just right with a spicy mayo type of sauce. The side of corn was outstanding. I returned on sun night around 630, this time with an appetite. It wasnt nearly as crowded and had my choice of seats at the bar. From the moment I sat down until I got up to leave, I was treated to the most impeccable service from the bartender, Chris. I started with the garlic steamed mussels, which was a good choice on a nice appetizer list. For dinner I had the king crab legs, steamed, asparagus with almond butter and the really excellent crawfish mac and cheese w/ andouille sausage. I like the place alot. As a solo diner, its a perfect place for me to sit at the bar, watch sports on tv and enjoy the lively crowd. The great food and outstanding service rounds out a place I cant wait to return to.

Hugo's is excellent! You get what you pay for. The food is excellent quality, the staff is almost always friendly, and extremely attentive to every detail. They just want to make their customers happy. I love this place! I would eat at Hugo's once a week if I could.

Hugo's is my favorite seafood restaurant. Ive been here many times and have never been disapointed in the food or service. The crab cakes are the best in the city. Everything is so fresh and tastes so amazing!

Great place to dine. The food was exceptional. The service was great. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure we had a top notch dining experience. They are always crowded and usually running a little later than the reservation, but it is worth the wait.

The food here is excellent and there's only been a single time where we had less than stellar service. During the holiday season, I usually expect a little more chaos in a restaurant than usual, but this time, our group of eight experienced poor timing on behalf of the lead server and "additions" to our check. Also, while you should always try to make reservations here, you will most likely still have to wait in a very crowded bar. We had reservations for 8pm and were not seated until 9pm. Overall, I still love going here, but I'm a little skeptical when it comes to bringing a larger group with.
