Good local place
Good neighborhood place. Food is good quality, price is low, quick service. It's a diner... not really fast food. Mosly always get pickup, but sometimes I at the counter. For the price it's good food for the area, other options like "Eleven" are good too, but Howies has better price points. They mostly always get my order correct and the food is almost always good eats. For the money, it's PERFECT!!!! Much better than chain fast food places and other grease-joints in Chicago.

Good neighborhood place!
My wife and I have been going to Howie's since he opened and have always had a good meal and enjoyed talking with him and his wife. As many have mentioned, this is a simple local place that is no frills, but delivers good comfort "diner" food that is reasonably priced. They are friendly to all, cater to the locals as well as visitors. Go in on a Sunday morning, read the paper and you'll have a good time with their huge pancakes/waffles or omelets. They do have parking in back too--it's somewhat hard to find, but they do have it if you can't find street parking on Wabash which is a lot harder to find.

No Service Available.....
I agree with the other poster.... Never try to order delivery here, they put you on hold and never return. And if you call back they get attitude with you for bothering them! Will never order from this place again!

Howie's is my neighborhood haunt
Howie's is exactly what it claims to be. If you're looking for world class cuisine, you're in the right city, but at the wrong address. The service is friendly, especially if you're a regular. Delivery is a great idea if you're within a few blocks. I mean, how many places can you call and hear "it will be there in 10 to 15 minutes"? Not only that, but the owner himself brings me my food. Howie's loses points in my book for its limited hours. For example, they're closed at 7 or 8 every single night, right at the time when neighboring restaurants are packed. Realizing that people like greasy food late at night isn't rocket science. In addition, they close at 3:30pm on Mondays. Just silly. They gain points with me for having really good vegetarian chili every day. You can find a veggie burger anywhere now, but the chili is just great comfort food.

Poor Service
I live right around the corner from this place, so I really want to like it. However, the service is just soo lacking I cant. Its supposed to be faster food service but there is nothing fast about it. The people are rude, and they always get my order wrong. And dont even try to call for delivery! They put you on hold every single time you call and never come back! The food is OK, but the service makes this place unbearable

Howie''s is the best fast food restaurant
Howies is the best restaurant for fast food I've ever been to forreal. It's very family oriented and the owners are the best people. Shouts out to them. Nikky
