Pretty good
I like this place better than any other place in Lincoln Square. However, you have to order at a peak time. My friend complained that his chicken fried rice tasted like they recooked it. I, however, never had any problems with my shrimp orders (fried rice, sweet & sour, and lo mein).

Eh, I've had better
Ordered Carry-Out. Got a lot of food for the price, however, I would not say it was worth it. We tried several entrees and thought they were all bland and generic. Was also upset to find that two of my typical chinese favorites were fried! Maybe some of the other food is good but I would definitely not recommends the Chow Fun, Lo Mein, or Empress Chicken.

Excellent Atmosphere!
I have been going here for year! the owner is an excellent cook and manages his place well. Recommended, and try the Egg Drop Soup. Very good.

My family has been going to Wah Sun for YEARS and have never had anything but GREAT food, WONDERFUL service and the best value in town. Simply love the place.

Hit and Miss
First of all, I can recommend visiting this Chinese restaurant. But I want to qualify that statement. One of the other reviewers has stated that there are plenty of Chinese-American restaurants in Chicago that aren't any good. I agree! House of Wah Sun is somewhere in between. If you haven't tried it, you won't know where it fits into your spectrum of good vs. great Chinese food. Some of the dishes are really great; and some really aren't. What I can definitely recommend is the chow fun (wide noodles). It was recommended to me as the reason to go to House of Wah Sun -- and it is worth it just to go for this alone. Most of the other dishes I have ordered are fair. But the service is good, the prices are good, and just like it was recommended to me, the chow fun is delicious enough to go specifically for that.

Not recommended
I think people end up here when hungry, not knowing where else to go or convience. The food is more like small town america chinese-nothing special at all. Too much corn starch, too bland, does not taste like fresh vegies.

My Favorite Chinese
I have been going to this place for almost 15 years. They are never very busy and can seat you as soon as you walk in. The food is great, the service is fast, and the price is unbeatable. They always have the same wait staff and they get to know and remember you orders, and always have a smile. I love this place and anyone who loves Chinese food should stop by.
