If you want to have a homemade croissant and a coffee come to this bakery. Or come here for cakes, sandwiches, soups and macaroons (all different types). Come to this bakery for breakfast and lunch. And always remember everything is homemade.

We happened on the bakery when a sales associate at a nearby Williams and Sonoma told us about the local food artisans they feature at their store the first Saturday of the month and mentioned the baked goods the bakery brought in. We were so glad we did! We tried a number of their fabulous breads and croissants because we found ourselves going back every morning of our Chicago stay except for the one (Monday) they weren't open. I would definitely recommend this jewel to anyone who longs for a European bakery experience. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Chicago and Hendrickx Belgian Bakery!

I went here on the chicago chocolate tour and wanted to ditch the others and stay here to keep sampling! It was amazing and they lets us go inside the kitchen to watch how they bake. the interesting part was that they dont use any mixing machinery everything is done by hand and crossiants are an 18 hour process! the whole wheat bread does not have any sugar so enjoy guilt free! other delectibles include the white chocolate muffin and the dark chocolate bread. so go! its well worth the price and the owners are extremely friendly!
