They seem to have their good days and their so-so days. I have been to this restaurant a few times, first of all, the St. Louis style ribs are really a gargantuan portion for the price paid (I could literally see the cow the ribs came from) at least when I ordered to dine-in. The sauce had a good flavor but there was a sort of unexpected after taste I did not enjoy. The following time I went there I ordered the bbq chicken, it was not that great, a bit hard, and if they used condiments it did not seem as if they went through the chicken, ending with good flavor on the outside and no flavor in the center. The third time I ordered the baby back ribs, they were simply spectacular, in my experience (and it extends to other bbq joints in both chicago and miami (some of which claim international fame for their food and price accordingly) I try to order ribs in just about any restaurant that offers them). This time they got the sauce just right, perfect actually, I ordered to go, so not sure if the delay in time between serving and eating had some effect, but w.e., I am now hooked, and will go back to them tomorrow and order the baby backs again, just to make sure it was not a one time thing. The meat was soft and went off the bone quite easily cooked to perfection, not too much that it was hard, or too little that it was undercooked. For the price, the portion was actually quite descent, I have paid twice for half to a third of what I got from this place in another restaurant with comparable ribs. now to explain my scores: -they scored major points due to the baby backs but seeing the quality has been lacking in the past I only gave them a 4. -They got a 3.5 because they are not really that accessible and the neighborhood, well... it does not look that safe, as well as being located in a gas station and lack of easy accessibility to a bathroom for customers. -They really are great value for the portions that they sell, in my experience at least, amongst the top in my book, they get a 5. -It seems like this place may focus more on delivery then dine-in. They do not even have a jar for tips, you order your food, pick it up and eat, if they remember they will give you all the necessary condiments that you need (i.e., ketchup, extra bbq sauce, etc.,etc.). And the main reason that I think it may have originally focused more on delivery then dine-in... no easy accessibility to a bathroom for customers, which is why I take-out.

The food was alright. It was expensive and the portion was quite small. The ribs were tough the chicken was ok... I really liked the mac and cheese and beans and coleslaw so did my boyfriend. He did not like the chicken and he also thought the meat was tough. Not worth the money go to ribs and bibs in Hyde Park!
