An Event
I have never been to a restaurant anything like this. Barack Obama spoke there, so did Studs Terkel and the Smashing Pumkins got their start on their stage. They have a radio show, a theater, a general store and a bar. Oh yeah, they have a restaurant too. I had the buffalo burger, my wife had the tofu and veggies plate, and my kids had quesadillas. I am going back.

Atmosphere with Ethics!
This place is great. Good quality food, organic ingredients, and the atmosphere makes the food taste even better. There's a bar on the side, and live music from time to time (usually on Thursday nights). Very cool place and good eats.

Good for vegetarians
Heartland is a funky, little neighborhood place... It has tons of vegetarian options... some better than others. The trick is to keep it simple. It's a charming place, though, it makes it easy to forgive its occasional sins.
