best pancakes of my life
We came to Grand Lux cafe for brunch last weekend, which was a smart move because the wait was a totally manageable 20 minutes (instead of the usual 50-90). I'd never had brunch there before and it really blew me away - the best pancakes I have EVER had, the perfect thickness, incredibly flavorful. They almost didn't need butter or syrup, they were so good. My one gripe is that the service was really spacey - a side of bacon never showed up, and our coffees were never refilled. But we've always had attentive service before, it might have just been the time of day.

Stuffed...
Wow! Great place to eat! Being greeted at ground floor level and then taken up the escalator by the hostess is cool. Gives you a good chance to chat and get a feel for the place, food and people working there. Quick to be seated too. Huge choice of food. Good explanation by the very friendly waitress without having to ask. Quick service of food to the table. Fantastic dishes and enormous portions. Great value too, especially if you're English where we get ripped off for eveything. Ate there twice which is not something I would normally do as I like to try a variety of places when visiting a city. Would I go back again? You bet!

WONDERFUL!!!
I absolutly love the lunch specials especially the pizza and salad one. Our waitress was wonderful. They have Fresca pop which I love, so our waitress went out of her way and got me a to go cup so I could take some pop with me. It was a wonderful experience and I will defanatly be back.

Loved It!
The Fried Chicken Dinner was fabulous, the Max Burger took me to another world. The server was great. However, for dessert I had the Chocolate Molten Cake and hated it. It tasted like burnt grilled cheese. The Ice Cream Sandwich was really good though. Very nicely decorated atmosphere and great jazz music playing. I love this place. Kinda pricey though.

Simply wonderful
The atmosphere is sheer elegance. Dine while overlooking Michigan Ave. Interior decor is just as wonderful as the surrounding view. Food is delicious with a wide variety to choose from. Portions are huge, so you get your money's worth. Overall, highly recommended
