Something's fishy
If you are looking for fresh fish, simply prepared this is definitely not the place. Although sporting an extensive fish menue, each item is over sauced, over prepared, or layered between something like grated potatoes and served with with sour cream. Would you prefer a coating of crushed pretzels. That's available too. A lovely piece of arctic char was hidden underneath a mess of spicyhot diablo sauce. The fish was hard to find and the sauce made it hard to enjoy. At the end the waiter told us we could have ordered all fish items simply prepared. That would have been the way to go. We were a group of 5 and everyone was in dismay at this overhyped place.

the best north side seafood
You have no idea. No. Idea. This place is amazing. The ahi tuna is completely ridiculous. The sea bass, mahimahi, halibut, salmon, and others are fantastic and fresh. Even the burgers and pasta are fantastic along with the omelettes. I have nothing but good things to say. I go there several times a week, and I live miles away.

GD Delicious
Glenn's became one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago after my second bite. The "diner" name is a little confounding as you're more likely to be eating fresh seafood or a steak than a BLT, but the food is top-notch. Rich, tasty, and brilliantly put together. The meatloaf sandwich, rueben, and potato salad are not to be missed. The seating room can be kind of cramped, but the service is great - everyone seems genuinely pleasant. Glenn's is a treat - I make strange sounds of delight when my girlfriend suggests we head there.

Way more than meets the eye
At first glance this is just another diner. This is way off! The place itself is probably best described as "cozy", which is to say pretty small but warm feeling. But in our experiences here its been both the food and the service that set it apart. Being "diner" people we were happy enough to come and order eggs, but after glancing the dinner menu we ordered up. I had the voodoo chicken special and my fiancee had the blue crab crabcakes (after asking the waitress about EVERY other fish dish available). Not only did the waitress answer every question knowledgeably about the food and how it was prepared, but offered good suggestions and was patient about the million questions. When the food arrived (rather quickly I should add) we were both blown away by our meals. She said it was the best crab cakes she'd ever had, including in Baltimore, and they were huge and all crab meat, no filler. The voodoo chicken was nice and spicy, and the potatoes and sausage in the dish were great as well. Overall, this is a surprisingly good dining experience from such an unassuming place, but thats probably what makes it so good - having a casual dinner that still tastes amazing.

outstanding seafood
When looking in I expected to find a cozy breakfest place with some lunh and dinner items. However, I was pleasently surprized to find a large veriety of FRESH seafood options. All are very unique and fairly priced. By far my favorite new find in the area. I have become a regular customer and recommend it to all my friends. The staff is wonderfull, and Chef Dave almost always makes an appearance to check on the dining experience of his "fans" which we all truely are.

Something a little different
A great location for a restaurant. Service is a little slow, but the atmostphere is very casual. The menu is very unique, with some very unique fare (some very good risks and some mediocre ones). Great brunch restaurant and some great comfort food (especially the potato pancakes). Love the BYOB, especially with the friendly neighborhood liquor store two doors down. The only thing missing is turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
