Very good food; not easily sharable

Four of us (2 couples) went to G&G last week on an early Wednesday evening. We got there at 5:15 and had a drink at the bar and were seated by 6. The hostesses are professional and friendly. We all enjoyed our cocktails - interesting and tasty! We looked at the menu and had some ideas, but our waitress said it's a "sharing" experience and we should order 2-3 dishes per person. So we took some time to re-select as a group based on this recommendation. To be honest, most dishes did not look easily sharable: skate wing, a whole chicken, salads. In any case, we did the sharables. We started with the cheesy cornbread and it was great! Flavorful, cheesy, and crispy on the outside and soft inside. Most of our dishes were excellent (scallops, mushrooms, skate wing, chicken), and the others were good or very good. Only the cauliflower salad was a dud. There was no issue with the quality or taste of the food, and service was very good. However, the plates were small and perhaps sharable for 2 but definitely not for 4. You end up getting 3 bites! We also tried 2 of the desserts. They were an interesting mix of sweet and savory and unexpected flavors combining, but again small and not particularly sharable. I would go here again, but I would not plan to share. You want to try a bite? Sure. But let's each order our own.
