Service was poor; slow to clear plates, with refills, with check. I expected to wait for deep dish pizza, but not everything else. The decor? Sorry but the whole graffiti motif doesn't work. Food is ok. Crust is surprisingly hard, and "deep" dish seems thinner than some others. But, sauce is very good and they use plenty of it. Appetizer sampler was ok, but lukewarm. Chop salad was good. Had to try it, but probably won't go again when there are so many other/better choices nearby.

I picked Gino's to be introduction to Chicago pizza on a recent visit. At around 4pm on a friday i arrived and the place was empty. Sat in ther bar area and was quickly served. I ordered a small cheese and sausage. It was ok but not something I would rave about at all. The sauce and cheese was tasty enough but the crust had a frozen pizza quality. Im not coming down on the style of pizza, but I think i will try a different restaurant next time.

I still think this is the best Chicago-style pizza in the city. Why anyone would prefer to eat at Pizza Uno, Giordano's, or any other place over Gino's East is beyond me. The two things I like the best about their pizza are the "cornmeal" crust and the unique sauce. The pizza is sloppy, however, so don't expect a nice neat slice. The atmosphere is great too- its nice to get away from the intense yuppiness that defines a large part of downtown. Service has always been great, too, in my experience.

Honestly, lets be real and here. The pizza is just OK. Its by far NOT the be I've ever had in this city or any ctiy. The claims of perfection reviewers made must have come from staff or owners, Real pizza lovers, do not be fooled. The pizza lacks a sauce with flavor, crust lacks crunch, and the cheese is generic. Its not the worst tasting pizza but for those prices, I will never go back. Apparently geno's used to be great. When???????

The pizza is bar-none the best chicago deep dish pizza in the world. Don't let the wild, punk-rock, scuff up the walls atmosphere deter you. If you are in the mood for some crusty, thick, piping hot deep dish pizza, definitely try Gino's.

This is the one. The best pizza ever created. Its better than all its rivals. It sausage is amazing. I could drink the pizza sauce. The cornmeal (or whatever it is) crust is perfect. However, their new building is terrible. It has no charm or character especially compared to the old location on Superior St. The neighborhood and suburbian locations are great too and they deliver.
