My friend was here from LA and my daughter decided to take me, friend and her sister out to Gibsons for a real lunch treat . I must tell you it was such a pleasant afternoon. Our table was perfect and our main waiter, David, was a gem. So cute and funny ! The food (tenderloin sliders-YUM) were delicious!!!! The bread on the table was scrumptious and the steaks melted in your mouth. We shared a delicious hot fudge sundae for dessert. The hot fudge was outstanding. I come from Wisconsin where we specialize in custard ice cream and hot fudge - and I feel that I am an expert on hot fudge. Gibson's was fab !!!! My compliments to the Chef, ambiance of Gibson's and David the waiter.

I could tell when we arrived at the restaurant that it was very popular but we were fortunate to be seated right away in the outdoor area. The waitress was the best I've ever experienced. She had us cut into our steaks before she walked away to ensure they were cooked to our liking. The portions for side dishes and desserts were HUGE. The green beans were a little on the tough side but that's the only thing I can complain about. If you are a wine lover, this place will please you. It has a very extensive wine list. Oh, and we figured out why we were seated so quickly - it's the cicada year in IL!

My family and I are from Washington, D.C and have been to many great steak houses including Ruth's Chris, Mortons, Houston's, The Prime Rib, and Palm. At first coming here we were a little bit scepticle because we heard that it was the most requested restaurant at our hotel. We thought it would look a little bit commercial but it wasn't at all. It felt really chicagoish and it was perfect! The food is great. Usually at steakhouses everything is so heavy and comes swimming in butter. This didn't at all. Like the broccoli came to our table steamed with a side of hollandaise so you could put as much as you wanted on. It was delicious! If you come to Chicago you should definatly come here.

If you want to impress somebody, take em to Gibsons. High class, the place to be seen, and the food and service never lets you down. Best steak in Chicago if not the USA. Get the lobster tail pre-diced up for the whole table, it will be a night to remember.
