The food is excellent, with very fresh ingredients. The basil salmon is excellent when it's offered as a daily special. We've been working our way through the menu and have enjoyed every dish. It's a whole in the wall with no atmosphere, but the wait staff is so pleasant and attentive, it's fun to eat there. Excellent quality and value.

I have been a customer of Garlic & Chili, which is located in the Marshall Hotel--read kinda sketchy-- for eight years. I've dined in, carried out and gotten delivery and generally liked the quality of the food for the price. I forgave much of the service problems until last night. As I was leaving work I placed an order so that I could pick up and eat right away. I ordered my typical order and when I got home I found that the spicy drunken rice I ordered was spicy drunken noodles. I called Garlic & Chili to let them know about the mix-up and the man who answered (who was the same man who took my order and the man who handed me my order) said that I ordered the noodles. I said, no I didn't I ordered the rice and on your menu they are called the same thing. So then he retorts, "What do you want to do about it?" and I replied " I want the rice." He asked if I was going to bring the noodles back and I said no. He could send one of his delivery people. And he said that he wrote down that I ordered the noodles so I must have ordered noodles. I told him he wrote down my order wrong. He said no, if he wrote noodles that is what I said. I am not a huge complainer and I usually let things like this go, but the man's attitude was appalling. I asked if he wanted to lose a customer of 8 years over this and he said "That is okay." So that was the end. Okay, Garlic & Chili which was empty without one customer at 720pm on a weekday, have that attitude! There are a lot of other quality Thai spots in the area and I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

We've been frequent customers of this place for about 10 years now. Hands down the best Thai food that can be had for the price. Their Tom Yum soup is superior to all others I have had anywhere! Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is good for a place that started as a carry-out/delivery restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone. Delivery is fast to River North.

Sure, maybe it doesn't compare side-by-side a top-rated gourmet restaurant, but this place offers the best, freshest, tastiest Thai dishes I have eaten anywhere so far. It's not expensive either so you can really load up without spending much. And to top all that, the staff there is so nice! Whether you're calling in for delivery or eating in, they are friendly, smiley, and make this great place even better.

This stuff is yummy to my tummy. I eat green curry, and like the green curry at The Healthy Garlic and Chili Thai Cuisine Restaurant. And......if you get to full eatting your healthy cuisine, and can take a nap in the hotel that is above the restaurant. BYOB too. Yeah!
