I was on a walk with the prettiest young Irish lady from my grade school and high schoo (we are 52 now)l, she was visiting from out of town, we were headed to the Cubs game. We happened upon Galways, sat outside by the street, and had a great experience. We both had the corned beef sandwich, which was outstanding, and the salad served with it was equally a big hit. I'd go there again....and again!

Great little place that I found by accident. Looks kinda expensive from the outside, but pleasantly reasonable in actuality. Superb sweet potato salmon dish and a wonderfully poured pint o' the black. What more could I ask for?

At the Galway Arms, you can not only get a fantastic pint of Guinness, but one of the BEST Corned Beef sandwiches I've ever tried! (And I've tried one or two in my day) The atmosphere on the patio is relaxed yet lively, the wait-staff are all fresh faced and seem glad to be there, and the food is always satisfying. My waitress, a girl from Ireland, was sweet, friendly, and sincere. She was also very patient when I was talking her ear off about my last visit to Ireland - always appreciated by an old guy :) Thanks Galway Arms! Don't change a thing!

The logo outside the Galway Arms states: "Soul of Ireland, Heart of Chicago", and this is spot on. Having visited the Windy City on numerous occassions, I was very glad to find this place. Galway Arms has authentic food, authentic staff, and the best atmosphere I have ever encountered in any Irish bar. An outside deck provides excellent al fresco opportunites, and some lazy afternoons spent people watching. Definently one to visit!
