My new favorite restaurant
I found this little nugget I hope they never change. Food was fresh service was a little slow IMHO bit we went early they were just opening up. In one word FRESH!!

Overlooked Mexican gem in Pilsen
My husband and I discovered Fogata Village a couple years back. They offer a wonderful daily buffet for around $8 or $9.00 Generally you will find 2 types of meat, vegetables, rice, soup, beans, salad and fruit plus rice pudding on the buffet... everything has excellent flavor... (not bland cafeteria style) Buffet hours are 11-3pm. Their general menu is a mix of Mexican, Italian and vegetarian. We've ordered once from the menu (veggie quesadillas were wonderful). We always end our meal with a cappucino or coffee... and it would be a great stop for that alone. They offer deserts as well. I've never checked to see if they serve liquor but a large group appeared to have brought in their own. The atmosphere is simple and colorful with lots of original artwork (for sale) on display.
