Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

My fiancé wanted to take her daughter to Chicago to see the Red Bull Exhibit and I, wanting to do a Wisconsin cheese tour, was against it. She won. So I said "fine but I'm going to make sure we eat the great food Chicago is known for" For lunch we found an awesome Chicago pizza (not a big fan but hey when in Chicago with a couple of newbie's its a necessity) For dinner I wanted a great steak and Chicago Chop house was my first choice but, dang is that place expensive! So I read every review on the internet and Flemings had some great reviews. The one I really liked was about how you can get their steaks dry or wet aged. Mmmmm dry aged fillet... about 12 oz.. my mouth was watering. We show up and everything is great. The place looks great. Got a table without a reservation. Great server. Then I find out the fillets are only wet aged even though the menu says "you can get our steaks wet or dry aged". Ok, fine, disappointed but not going to leave. Got a glass of wine at 4 times the market value... OK its Chicago... GLASS WAS DIRTY! Ok, asked for a clean glass for my next one. At this point the prices were not bothering me cause it was a mini-vacation. The girls got chicken (nothing special for the price) with a side of mac and cheese and I got the 11 oz fillet. The fillet was an end cut with the sinue running through it! It was tough and I should have returned it. Bottom line. Next time its Gibson's or Chop House. We didn't let it bother us we had a blast in Chicago!

I made reservations here for a group after a weekend seminar. It was wonderful, I could not have been happier with the service, food, atmosphere. It was incredible and everyone had an awesome time. It was luck of the draw from Urban Spoon and getting the reservations was tough. Just be friendly and negotiate with them. I would try to call a day ahead I highly recommend, this is a chain, but this particular location I loved.

Went there for the 5 to 7 menu in the bar area. You can sit downstairs or up on the second floor. Had the Sweet Chili Calamari, hugh pieces cooked perfectly with the sweet chili sauce, along with the Seared Ahi Tuna and the great mustard sauce. (packs a punch). And the Prime Burger. All this paired up with their $7 martini specials was an inexpensive afterwork meal. The price can't be beat!
