How could something so good become so bad
Loved the original place when it was small and self service. Everything was great. However, they expanded and quality of food and service quickly went down hill. No longer in a price range for most families. Sorry to see the change. Will not return.

What a scam!
Tried their baby backs and hot links, but not impressed. I don't know where these guys get their pork, but c'mon guys, I can do better at home with meat from Dominick's. Still not sure if their hot links were bad or just barely o.k. One thing's for sure...this was an expensive mistake and yet another chicago BBQ scam. Atmosphere ain't bad and service pretty good, but not worth the price and oh did I mention the wait.

Comfort food
They have terrific and tasty comfort food. There's nothing better than the BBQ and the warm brownie and ice cream for dessert. It melts in your mouth! A winner everytime!

Was better in their earlier days...
Was a huge fan of Fat Willy's in the beginning. Absolutely LOVE their spicy bbq sauce. Recently, however, I notice the prices are high and the service is low. I called for delivery on evening and was rudely put on hold (had to hang up and call back 5 times) before being told that delivery orders aren't taken until 5pm (it was 4:55). Overall - the cold and soggy food that arrived was very expensive, in my opinion. Two sandwhich dinners for $30.00. Will be trying some over, more down-to-earth bbq joints from now on.

The shrimp and Mac & Cheese are yummy!
I have to stop myself from just getting the fried or grilled shrimp which are quite large and tasty with the Fat Willy's sauce. I'd pass on dessert there. The rib tips are tougher but the basket is a great deal if you're craving bbq. The baked mac and cheese appetizer is really good as well. I'll have to try the brisket based on other posts!

Best Ribs in Chicago
I'm from Oklahoma where ribs are always good so finding a place that had ribs that lived up to what I expected just had not happened until I found Fat Willie's. The ribs fall off the bone and are great! Having also just attended the RibFest in Naperville I can also tell you nothing there was as good as Fat Willie's either. Great sides also!

Yummy!
Fat Willies is by far the best BBQ I have tried in Chicago. I first heard of this little delicious hideaway watching an episode of Check Please on Chicago’s public television channel. Now that I’ve been there I make it a point to go every time I’m near by. The ribs are amazing and the beef brisket is the best I’ve ever had. Check this one out; it’s got a nice atmosphere and delicious food.
