Best Ethiopian
The food at Diamond is excellent. I have been coming here for years. I tried Ethiopian food for the first time over 30 years ago in Los Angeles when it was not well known. We just love this place. It is like having a meal at your favorite aunts home. A lot of care and love go into its preparation from the warm injera to my favorite Doro wat. The best Ethiopian in Chicago by far. Oh don't forget to try the honey wine or the Ethiopian coffee, wow I can't wait to have it again.

First Experience
This past weekend was my first experience with Ethiopian cuisine. I must say I did like the ambiance of the restaurant and the attentiveness of the servers. As for the food, I thought it was good (having no comparison). I did think it was somewhat expensive, but I'd definitely visit there again.

Fabulous place!
This is a real find: with wonderful food and an attentive staff. My favorite are the vegetable dishes and the berbere sauce. The injera is just perfect. This is the best Ethiopian restaurant I've found. Love it!

Mellow man, just mellow
If there is one thing I love about this place besides the food it is the service. By the end of your meal you automatically feel like hugging the staff. They are incredibely nice and paint a great picture of the Ethiopian people and cultrue. I just love this place and the workers.

I wish the waiter wasn't so nice...
I'm a fan of Ethiopian, even with the wise crack jokes that come about when I profess my fondness of the cuisine. Anyhow, I tried this place per a friend's request. My impressions: 1. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. 2. Spacious, almost overly spacious location. 3. Nice decor in the back (although no one was seated there). Now the bad: 1. Price- exceeds all other Ethiopian rest. Not a good deal. And contrary to an earlier post, I don't think it's decently priced. Although, they might have to given their large space and the whopping lease payment they must have. 2. I noted tons of "best xyz" stuff around, so I was excited. Well, the injera is the best I've tried (not too sour), although there were no refills once the plate of *cold* injera was gone. 3. Veggie sampler- nicely spiced, but wasn't really feeling the cold or leukwarm temp. I like my food hot, unfortunately nothing on our platter was anywhere near piping hot. 4. Didn't include any additional injera with my doggie bag. ANd everything was just slumped in. I can't wait to reheat my beef-lentil-lettuce from the salad combo. There's nothing like warm lettuce...ugh. Those are my thoughts. I don't think I will return. I like the more modestly priced rest. down the road where my food comes out nice and warm. I wish I could have a better review b/c the waiter was such a polite man and it shows that he is really trying to keep his customers content.

Won't go back
Food is so-so and the prices are over the top for the service and meals provided. Not recommended.
