Treated Poorly by Owner
I walked into the restaurant with my father (who is recuperating from knee surgery and visibly with cane) and my brother. My mother and sister-in-law were en route to the restaurant and would be there in 10 minutes. The restaurant was 90% empty, but the owner insisted that we could not sit until our entire party was present. It is difficult for my father to stand, so I asked for a table for three. However, my brother stepped outside to take a phone call, and the owner stated that we could not be seated until all three of us were present. So my brother had to come back in so we could be seated, and then walk back out to continue his call. I was informed that we had to sit at a table for three until the other two party members arrived. Then we would be moved to a larger table. I understand the policy of "all party members being present before being seated", but I believe that the owner could have used more discretion in this case. After discussing the issue privately with the owner, he insisted that he would not back down from his policy of everyone being present before being seated. The waitstaff was nice and food was good. However, none of us will visit this restaurant again. $$$ being more important than treating customers with respect left a bad taste in my mouth.

Poor Service, Smug Attitude, Blah Food
We went on a Friday in early October, and were treated like an afterthought. BAD service (the waitress left our glasses empty, never checked on us after taking the order, had to chase her down to get the check). Some guy delayed our dessert because he didn't think we wanted what we wanted. Dry pastrami, small portions. Not recommended.

Garbage disguised as food
I noticed a lot of people going into this restaurant, so I decided to follow. Now that I think about it, I think they were tourists. When I first walked into the restaurant, the hostess refused to talk to me or look at me when I spoke to her. She only seem to hear my husband. The same thing happened with the waiter. I still can't figure this one out. Then, I ordered an omelette, which came with potatoes and toast. It was ridiculously overpriced, but I'm still being optimistic at this point thinking perhaps this might be the best omelette I will ever taste (I was hypnotized by the amazing decor). I get my food, the first thing I noticed that the omelette was way too small to be made with "3 eggs" as claimed on the menu. On top of that, it was super bland! My husband ordered a cheeseburger, which he ordered medium. It was burnt, not well done, but burnt to a point where black burnt flakes were coming off of it. The tomato that came with it was warm and falling apart. The waiter refused to take the food back and even seemed angered by the suggestion. Furthermore, we got reprimanded by a fat man in the front for exiting through a door, not the revolving door. What is the difference? It's a freaking door, it's for exiting! I have had better food and service at a more reasonsable price at pseudo-diners, like IHOP's, Deny's, Golden Nuggets than this place!

Awesome!
Eleven City Diner is a great place to go to if you are hungry and are looking for great value. My fiance and I call this place "our spot" because we go every week late night and order our favorites: a bacon cheeseburger for him and the cheese fries for me. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Definitley try the place...it comes highly recommended!

cant wait to go again!
Eleven City Diner has to be the classiest place ive ever ate. My number one recommedation is to save room for dessert and get a vanilla milkshake. Perfectly blended and perfectly smoothe. I can't wait to get another one!

Great Food, Great Service!
I always go in for the Cheeseburgers, but I have tried other things that are equally as great! Good sit down restaurant right inbetween the two Columbia College buildings I practically live at. Not bad pricing either! I recommend Eleven to anyone!

Great Experience, can't wait to go back
From the delicious waffles to the steamy potato latkes, Eleven City Diner has it all and more. The owner was very friendly and gave us 5 orders of latkes on the house. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and the overall experience was great. I can't wait to go back.
