Best African in town!
I'm always looking for good African food, and I stumbled across Demera a few years ago. Now, I can't get enough of it! The waitstaff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is to die for! I can't get enough miser wat or fish, and the sambussa are delicious! Sometimes the waitstaff are a little inattentive, but that's only when the place is full. They really care about having you enjoy your meal. I can't wait to go back now that I'm thinking about Demera!

The best NE African food...
I've been here twice and each time I have been 100% satisfied. The atmosphere is fantastic, I love at the detail the owners have put into the place all the way up to painted ceiling light covers and creative table cloths. The service is fantastic as well. The waitresses are always super friendly, polite, and helpful. The value is unsurpassed among the Ethiopian restaurants in Chicago. The variety items on the menu is the biggest I've seen on any Ethiopian menu and the mixed platters are perfect good portions and a wide variety of items to choose from! And alas, an Ethiopian restaurant which will actually freely give you more injera! Most importantly, the food quality and flavors are phenomenal. Good balance of spices and authentic. This is a great restaurant to take people who want to try or haven't had Ethiopian food.
