Go now for fresh creative quality grub

I've been "knowin" Delisi's (aka "Deluxi's) through various changes, higher highs, lower lows, for low these 6 years as a transplant neighbor. This review is about the serendipitiy of what happened in the kitchen/management when I returned rfor one of the best take out lunch meals I've had--I gotta say, in the entire Northwestside late summer--last week. 1) The minestrone. The freshest, perfectly cooked, balanced, seasonal , colorful and nourishing small diced vegetables, al dente Ditalini pasta cooked to suspend itself in this drop dead tastebud twanging, feel good thick nuanced tomato base. No watery salt-bathed beef broth with some limp cabbage floating in it that I got deliverered cold for twice the price from Chicago's last week. Variatal protein-laden hold their own non-mush Beans! Fresh legumes, all I can say to you folks, is grab this by the bowl at Delisis while you can. It rocks this and every other world. 2) The atrociously finest salad I have had on the Northwest side in 5 years. Delisi's, again, as I've said, has changed-and I don't know for how long, so GO NOW. You will NOT be disappointed, or I will make you a salad myself. Knowing Delisis's from a their somewhat, if not illiterate, but certainly not fresh and engaging kitchen past, but now being blown away by what turned out to be my nectar of the god's minestrone, I also had friend pick up the large gourmet antipasto salad, for me, sans meat. I'm a foodie, and I know Deluxi's version of "gourmet" salads from many years of disappointment, so I had on hand actually greens, herbs, olives, and cheeses, etc to add to the Styrofoam carton of iceburg lettuce and packaged crap they usually dish out for $7.50. Check out the bounty they delievered. An _ample__ fresh crisp colorful MOUND of a delightful assortment of crunchy lettuces and mixed greens, fresh (ripe and delicious) cherry tomatoes, the best kalamata olives, cucumbers, feta chunks, primo mozzarella chunks, plus several other premium cheeses chunked and integrated, green peppers, mushrooms, cukes, _artichoke hearts, pepperocini, more kalamatas (these are sans pits lovelies.) Whole sprigs of _Fresh from the Garden Basil!_--I put away all my shite I set out to supplement and went to town. I know you all love Deluxi's for the za and different reasons. But I'm telling you if you get there now and love true fresh Italian vegetarian seasonal food, rush. It was THAT good.

    Superb Pizza!

I was drawn to Delisi's because of their vegan offerings. My friend and I decided to have pizza for dinner. My friend is a vegetarian and I am hopeless carnivore, so we decided it would be Delisi's. Hoping for a decent placebo effect to curb my desire my meat, I found myself astonished. Not only was the quality of the their vegan sausage superb, but it was on par with the rest of the meal. The ingredients were extraordinarily fresh and complimented by a pleasant hint of butter and garlic in the crust. The pizza arrived hot, not warmed or congealed, but HOT. It is arguably the best delivery experience I've ever had. We have a new favorite pizza joint in Chicago!

    Best Pizza in town

I did not know what to expect initially, but I was completely impressed with the food at Delisi's. I'd even argue that the pizza is the best in Chicago (especially the thin crust, I prefer this to deep dish anyway). They also offer multiple different toppings such as banana peppers and artichoke hearts which allows for a truly personalized pizza. The service was great and the staff and managers are really friendly. I will definitely be back here soon.

    awesome food, poor service

Ate there for the 1st time after the new management took over and all I can say is WOW. The pizza is awesome! Get the thin crust, for sure! Why is it that the best pizza places in town (Pequod's for deep dish, Delisi's for thin) have bad service? I hope that the new management solves this quickly! If you ignore the service, the food will blow you away!
