De Rice

I have never had to wait for more than 20 min for an order despite the usual 45 min wait they tellyou on the phone. I love the Mango Beef its so tender compared to other places. It defenitly is take out though as the place has a counter for taking orders and a tiny 2 table eating area with no decor whatso ever. I order from them again and again.

De Rice is by far the best Asian take out restaurant in Hyde Park, with fresher food than any of the various Thai places. The varied menu has more intense flavors than the south side competition, and pretty good fast food style sushi (nothing fancy.) This is not an authentic restaurant, although in terms of quality it can easily compete with most places in Chinatown, and it can't match the more expensive chinese places on the north side, but it's easily the best option for Hyde Park/Kenwood.

Best Chinese Food In Bronzeville !!!

This is not your average take out/delivery Chinese place and it by far beats out any other Hyde Park area Chinese rivals (Nicky's, Wok n Roll, etc). The quality of the food is very good with huge portions, especially for what you pay. Their BBQ Pork is fabulous, tender and moist and glazed to perfection, while their scallion pancakes are unmatched -- do yourself a favor and try all of the variations. Can't speak on atmosphere however, seeing as I've only had it delivered (which is lightning fast by the way).

Food was excellent good portions, great flavor. Egg Roll was one of the best I've ever had. My husband agreed 100%. The homeade Iced Tea was delicious, the Homeade Iced Green Tea was on the sweet side but still good. Best for take out the atmosphere was non existent.
