What happened???
This was so amazing when it opened and last summer. I went with a friend tonight and the crust wasn't the amazing crust it originally was, but limp and tasteless. The Margherita pizza was bland. The arugula salad was mediocre at best. The grapefuit cocktail we started off with tasted like the alcohol was missing, not like the amazing grapefuit infused vodka they originally used... The glasses of Malbec my friend and I ordered after that were absolutely horrible - possibly turned. We returned them and ordered a Shiraz and a Cabernet - both completely horrible and undrinkable. I don't know what the deal was, we couldn't figure it out! They took them off the bill, as they should but I am just sad to know another amazing restaurant that started with such promise has fallen so far, so fast. In addition it was less than 1/3 full between 7-9 on a Friday night which we couldn't believe, but after our meal we understood completely. Sigh...

loud dog is killing me!
Nice food, definitely, but don't sit outside because there is a big dog two doors down that barks a lot in the evenings. It is painful.

Crust is my favorite restaurant!
Not only is the food organic and local, but it's full of delicious flavors. The flatbread is fantastic, the salads are fantastic, the drinks are fantastic!

Boring and Rude
This place is pretencious boring food and rude. I like Piece better on milwaulkee if we're talking fancier pizza places. Oddly enough the crust was boring like cardboard and everything was pretty dry. I liked bumbera in lincoln sq which was organic pizza however BETTER pizza. Too expensive too not worth it.

Overrated
We went to Crust with very high expectations, were told that we would have a 30-40 minute wait, and then waited one hour and fifteen minutes. The drinks were great (though expensive) and the bar staff were personable and fun to talk with. We were told that for our extra long wait we would receive a free dessert, but at the end of the meal we were brought out a piece of very dry chocolate cake, without ever being asked which of the four menu dessert choices we would like. The most offensive part of the meal was our ordering process. Our group of four had decided on both starters and three "flat breads" to order. Immediately, our waitress said in a condescending tone, "can I ask why you would order that pizza (the wild herb and cheese)?" Basically, I felt bullied into thinking some of our choices were bad. We ended up only ordering two pizzas (oops flat breads), which were mediocre at best. I will say that the buffalo mozzarella salad was tasty, but the soup was also only average.

New kid crust fitting in just fine.
In a city that hears the argument for best pizza joint in town on a day in and day out basis, this new spot is such a good choice because there is nothing else like it. Try the pizza carbonara and whatever else looks good as the menu is changing based upon the freshest and tastiest ingredients available to the chef's at the time. Very good beer selection to which one might not think.

Fantastic organic experience
My wife and I have been to crust now several times after discovering it a couple of months ago. All but once, we've been on a weekend afternoon and sat in the garden and been attended by John. He is a remarkable server and has always taken good care of us. The sandwiches have been good but the flat breads and salads are where it's at. And knowing that it's all organic makes Crust a no-brainer when we want to eat out.
