A little srevice please
i went to this dinner for a sunday brunch with my girl friend. she had a veggie burger and i order pancakes and eggs. service was pretty slow even though the restaurant was less then full. when we finally got our food that was the last time we saw our server until the bill. veggie burger was good but the breakfast was not. pancakes weren’t cooked all the way and potatoes tasted funny. when i told my waitress about less then satisfactory food sorry and left the table. not pleased with that response i paid the bill and asked to speak to the manager. however, even the manager made me feel as though i was trying to get a free meal although all the food that i ordered was still right in front of me and my bill was already paid. over all, with plenty of great dining experiences to be had in chicago, i wouldn’t recommend this one to a friend.

good food, slow service
Consistently good food, plenty of variety. Consistently poor, slow service.

What's Not To Like?
Great burgers, fantastic German Pancakes, (especially the ones with the apples.) Oh my, you should EAT!

Food is decent, but service ruins it.
It must be admitted the portions at Clarke's are generous, and any attempt at the "diner" feel is fine for the morning after. But beware both the meal service (slow and inattentive, even when relatively empty on a Sunday morning) and the checkout rules and regs they won't do the math for dividing checks, and will offer you a calculator to work it out yourself. Much better brunch in the neighborhood for the money, without a doubt.

Amazing breakfast and Very Reasonable
I love love love this place for their fluffy omlettes. They are huge and come with greta bread and freshly chopped fruit. Seriously, they are the best in Chicago. Service can be kind of slow if it's at a crazy time, but the staff is attentive. The prices are very reasonable. Also, their salads are very good and also huge.

Late night = slow service
The food is fine but budget about 2 hours if you go after 2 AM!

Great 24 hour place
I've been here many times, and not just when it was the only place open. It's got a good selection, relatively good prices, and it's open all the time. The baked apple pancakes are great.
