    Great!

I went there yesterday, Mother's Day and am glad I decided to stop by! I saw the restaurant featured on Metromix a while ago and my antenna immediately went up when I heard the address because it's not too far from where I live and I'm always looking for "new/unique/recommended" restaurants to try for breakfast. I had an omelet, grits, toast/biscuit and coffee. Three words, "delicious, fresh and unique". This place is my new spot for breakfast. I'm giving Wishbone a serious break! The only complaint, my coffee wasn't that good, a tad bitter. But, I'll try the decaf the next time. I give CJ's 4 1/2 forks!

A Fantastic, New place to eat!

Wow! This place was amazing! I found it just last week and am sold big time! It was a great experience. The corn chowder is some of the best I've ever had (sorry, Grandma). Don't miss this place!

    Pleasantly Surprised

This was my first visit to this restaurant, but it was my sister & parents second visit. I was very pleasantly surprised. This eatery has the look and feel of a Wicker Park or Division St. eatery, but is located on the West Side (West Humbolt Park), amidst tons of carryout / fastfood spots. The atmosphere was very comforting with Jazz playing softly in the background. The walls are adorned with paintings of local artists. The food was absolutely fantastic. We shared two appetizers: Crab cakes and the Calamari. For my entree, I chose the Chili Rubbed Sirloin with Southern Fried Corn. I also sampled from other plates on the table: Meatloaf Tower, Mojito Chicken, and the Ribeye Sandwich. All of our selections were outstanding. For dessert we shared the Banana Bread Pudding with Peanut Butter Anglaise'. It was a great finish to a wonderful experience at CJ's. Kudos to CJ's Eatery for being a breath of fresh air & good food for the West Siders. We will go back!!
