    Delicious Buns

I'm a New Yorker and I hail from a place with a ton of Chinese bakeries, but Chiu Quon is pretty darn good. I have to admit, I may actually like their pork sung buns better than ones I've had from NYC (definitely try them!!). Also, their dan tats (egg tarts) are delicious. I only had the one with the slightly brown/burnt looking top (I've seen it labeled as Portuguese style in other Chinese bakeries, but I don't know the actual name), but that was creamy and full of egg-y goodness, without being too overpowering. The selection is a little more limited than what I'm used to seeing, but the service is friendly (although I also spoke in Chinese and I don't know if that was a factor). I haven't tested enough Chicago Chinatown bakeries to give a good comparison yet, but hey, they're buns for less than a buck and they're delicious, so if you have the time, check out Chiu Quon Bakery.
