Ordered Cochinato Pibil, the taste was unbalanced, the pork very dry and the presentation lacking and without the traditional condiments and sauces. Not served in the traditional manner and clearly cooked without banana leaves. Expected much more for $18.50. Ordered the crepes for dessert; plaintains not ripe. Service was mediocre; waiter inexperienced and kept coming over the table and asking if we were finished when we were clearly not. Restaurant located near subway. Music noisy, crowd also noisy (which was fun) but not a place to make comments no less have a conversation. Menu different than other Mexican restaurants. Need to work on service and culinary standards.

We've been to Chilapan 3 times now and each has been really great. The food is well presented and the complexity and balance of the sauces does rival Fronterra. They are a BYOB but they nix a really wonderful & fresh "base" for margaritas. Just bring your own tequila! The dinning room is tiny so it can get a bit noisy, but to me that just adds to the character. Give this place a try. You will love it

The food here is excellent! The service is a little off, but it is a new restaurant, so kick back and relax and enjoy your meal. The staff is MORE than accomodating with keeping your glasses filled and BYOB beverages chilled in their fridge. Definitely will go back!!
