They go out of their way to make sure food is fresh. Hope they put McDonald's out of business.

We ordered apps, soup, and 2 entrees tonight. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Thank you Chickpea, we'll definitely be back soon!

My vegetarian dining partner and I went tonight for the second time and were delighted yet again. We were lucky in that both Friday's special dish (grape leaves -- vegetarian) and Saturday's (sumac spiced roast chicken with what I would call an onion marmalade and pine nuts) were available. We started with the Fool Mudammas (sautéed fava beans with garlic, olive oil, tomato, and chickpeas). It was a delicately flavored delight. The chef, Emni, brought us two delicious sauces, one of jalapiños and another of parsley and garlic, which were great on the Fool. Falafel were delicately crisp and delicious. The baklava and date-filled cookies and tea were a superb finish to the meal. Emni herself is warm and friendly and can't help mothering you! She learned all the recipes from her grandmother, she told us, and I have no shadow of a doubt it's true. Every dish is prepared with care and love and shine through in the delicious taste. You really must give this place a try!

Chickpea was a glorious surprise. Though I was a bit confused on whether to sit or wait to be seated, I was splendidly surprised. The owner of the shop gave a recommendation of Hummus plate and the chicken sandwich. Let me tell you...the Hummus tasted like the herbs were just cut in the garden. The chicken sandwich was to die for. If anybody tries to compare Chickpea to Reza's or Sultans Market is sorely mistaken.
