Chicago Jewel
I've been on a South Loop exploration kick recently. Chicago Firehouse is a required stop along the way. The building is wonderful and has a lot of history to it. The restaurant is nicely decorated for the holidays and they had a children's choir caroling last Saturday. The service was impeccable. My date and I both ordered steaks and they were perfectly cooked. The blue cheese crust was wonderful. The crab cake app was huge and all crab. Loved every minute of the experience!

Try the patio or the bar
This is a real firehouse with lots of character inside and out. If the weather cooperates, the patio is a lovely spot to dine but be sure to stop in the bar and soak up the details that remain from it's former life. Great food and presentation but the service can be spotty. Overall well worth a visit.
