    Extremely greasy

I ordered for the first time since I got home late from the gym and my options were limited. Their menus were randomly in my mailbox one day, so I decided to try them out. Big mistake. I thought I was getting somewhat healthy dishes with eggplants and veggies, but instead got containers that were over 50% full of grease with mostly sauce and a few veggies and meat floating in the mix. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. The noodles were also floating in grease. The only highlight was the mango and papaya smoothie which was pretty good.

one of the better places in Chicago

Speaking as a Chinese, this is one of the better Chinese food places in Chicago. Dishes are not too greasy, the menu is actually fairly authentic and not American-Chinese, fairly diverse, preparation is pretty decent, and price is good. I've tried other recommended places (Lao Sze Chuan, that Beijing place, etc) and found them all too salty and greasy, and often taste like stale oil. It's one of the few places in Chicago so far that I revisited. I'd describe the style as modern home-style Cantonese. If you come you'll see this place has more Chinese customer than all other places in the mall, for a good reason.

    Desperate

Chi cafe is opened really late with a nice roomie atmosphere so its a good place to go late nights. But the food isn't that good. Its only average at best. Small quality of food for the price that you're paying. I would only go there when I'm desperate for food since its open late and delivers.

    Chi Cafe

The Chi Cafe in Chinatown is truly a hidden treasure. The service is outstanding! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a friendly waitor who gladly sits you and your party wherever you wish to sit and the service is quick. The menus are darling, their tea is amazing, the food is delicious, and it's affordable. As for the atomoshpere, it's a bit loud but it's not obnoxious. It's a friendly cafe that I highly recommend.
