A fine neighborhood institution
NOT an expensive place -- more like average non-chain good quality, tasty fast food. Simple, no frills, and reliable, Charcoal Delights serves North Park University students with everything from burgers and dogs to fried chicken and ribs -- and has done so for generations. It's classic fast food counter or carry-out window stuff. At the counter, they give you a tray with a number, then carry the food to your table. It's not worth driving across the city for, but if you're within a mile or so, a fine place for a place one step or two up from McDs.
