I would like to say that the food was very good and service was great. It was me and my wife's first time there and Captain Curt himself waited on us,he made our experience the best it could be. He gave us a sample of his sauces which all of them where great and my favorite one was the lemon honey sauce,the rib tips and hot links were great and the beef ribs were also great. Thanks Captain Curt for the great experience and we will be back.

Waited in line for 30 min just to order.They gave no explanation for delays.It took another 35 mins.to get our order.What a waste of time. We got home our order was incorrect, with some items missing.Rib tips were undercooked.Their hot link is not good. taste like cornbread .Called returned food .On 2nd try we realized should have just gotten our $32 back.Oh yeah Curt himself was agitated because we returned his food. Highly Overrated.

I've always been a Barbara Ann's Barbeque customer. Well Barbara Ann's has closed and I was in search of a new Barbeque place I could become a loyal customer and walked into Captain Curts Barbeque on 82nd & Stony Island. It was a Saturday night around 9:00pm and the place was empty - that should have been my first clue, second the woman behind the counter looked at me, then was either texting or reading something on her cell phone - no greeting - no "may I help you" . I should have turned around and walked out. I didn't I waited for her to finally finish and take my order - large rib-tip. I got home and to dig in - the meat was dry, tough and disappointing. I threw it away, a waste of money and in todays economy I don't have money to throw away. I will never go to Captain Curts again and will NEVER recommend it to anyone.

This was my first time going here and didn't know what to expect. I ordered a large rib tip dinner and it smelled and looked pretty good. I'm from the Northside and it's hard to find good ribs no matter where you go. The southside has northside beat hands down. When I got the tips home the meat was ok and the sauce left alot to be desired. I chose the regular sauce, (didn't want to take a chance and preferred to stick to what I know) it was ok but was not impressed. A medium cole slaw was a bit expensive but was still good. The service was very fast but it was only 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday and the place was empty. If this was the only place open I wouldn't recommend it. But I would still rather travel all the way south and get some real ribs somewhere.

It's great to see Capt Curt he's always so friendly but I need my food fresh and the cook to be more pleasant. I won't give up but I'm running short out of attempts.

The food is great. The ribs are to die for. I wasn't a fan of curts, One day my husband was talking to him before he change the format of his store. He had a vision of what he wanted it to be. I am so proud of what he did to it. It is great and looks like something in a white area. But did he have to change the price of the food. Captain Curt come down on the prices for the people in this neighborhood. Some of us like your food but we can't come in because we don't have the money or at least have some specials during the week for the most unfortunate ones who don't have the money to buy your good food. Please think about it

The food is still good here. My thing is, why do Curt feel like he has to charge me and everyone else in a neighborhood where wings were once 3 for $1.29, almost 4 dollars now? The prices here are ridiculous. A lunch special(combo) in here will run you $10 for LUNCH.
