Perfect stop after a day at NPVNC

Conveniently/Romantically located next to a Sherwin Williams paint store, this restaurant is not a natural for me, as it is nowhere near home (Lake View). BUT, it is a natural if you are visiting North Park Village Nature Center, a gem within the city, and would like a nice snack or meal before continuing on, wherever that may lead. Everything I tried was good to great, and reasonably priced. One thing you have to have is the mussels in cream saucefantastic! The squid rings and spuds is very good, too, tho pricey at 8.95, Empanada gallega @ 5.95, tho small, is a very tasty and right on stuffed puff pastry with good flavor. Only 4 small pieces, tho, so order accordingly. Over all, I really liked this place. Food was very good to excellent , and service was top notch. Considering we were the only peeps in the joint at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon, I figured we'd be appreciated, and we werethe chef came out to see how we fared and we had a nice conversation. Bring good wine, as this isn't a place to scrimp unless you have to, but we've all been there, so do what you can. I've already recommended this joint to several of my friends, both in town and out, so I guess I'll just have to go back even if it is not close in. At least one can park nearby, a rarity in the city, and a big plus. And don't forget to bring the wine.

    Great neighborhood place

Nice new addition to the neighborhood. The food was very good. The mussels in cream sauce was addictive and the figs wrapped in bacon were very rich and unusual. The BYOB made it even more attractive. The service was very good and very helpfull. We had seven tapas and the bill was under $50.00. We wish this new place a long and successful life. Try it you'll like it if you like to try new things.

    Great local tapas

Had a great meal here recently. The look of the restaurant is uninspiring (inside and out), but the tapas ranged from good to excellent. Most tapas are under $10, and it is BYOB, making it very affordable. (We had 5 tapas, one dessert, brought our own win, and bill was still less than $50.) Skip the sausage/jamon platter, it was the most expensive item we ordered, tasted fine but rather boring. Potatos with chorizo were perfectly cooked, though I would have liked a more flavorful, spicy chorizo. Rest of the dishes were really great and well-prepared, obviously made with lots of care. Server was very warm and attentive, really some of the best service we've had in a while! I would say that most of the dishes were on par with what you get at other higher-profile tapas places but without the high-profile prices. We will most definitely go back.
