After a great 1st meal here, my roommate and I decided to come back a few weeks later a BAD idea. We both ordered the jibirito (grilled steak sandwich w/ plantains) and were very excited to try it. As another reviewer here wrote.... the sandwich was RUINED and INEDIBLE due to the toughest, most gristley, and rubbery steak we had both ever tried. We could not even chew the steak without eventually spitting up into our napkins. We both wanted to love our meal here... but were very, very disappointed. When we eventually kindly let our un-attending waiter know about the steak, he went and told "Papi" (the owner)... with NO response. We were were angry that he did not even come over to apologize or even offer a discount. Instead he seemed insulted. All of our food was clearly still on the plate. As nice as the decor is here- and as cute as it is, I find that the owner's indifference and rude behavior, along with the gross meat, makes this place awful for any meal. We won't be coming back to Cafe Aorta again.
