Folks go to Brazzaz for the meat, maybe for the salad bar, but don't overlook the wonderful whole grilled hot pineapple, sliced thin. My guests went home to Iowa and immediately started grilling pineapple a la Brazzaz.

On a recent trip to Chicago we had our first experience with a Brazillian Steakhouse at Brazzaz. The house cocktail was excellent as was our waiter's wine suggestion. We were somewhat skeptical as we consider ourselves to be wine connoisseurs. However, the Beckmen Estate Syrah he suggested was exceptional and a great pairing for our dinner. The vast array of meats presented to our table was impressive, however, those presented later in the meal were slightly over cooked. Even these had excellent flavor. The only negative was the self service salad bar /charceuterie. To us this took away from the overall service. We really enjoyed the meal and experience.

The $19.99 lunch special is an incredible value, you couldn't go to a discount fast food place like White Castle and get the quantity (and certainly not the quality) of food offered here for the $20 tab. The meat was very nicely done, medium rare as I like it, and the only pork I was offered was the sausage. The salad bar was excellent and had a nice variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. Several nice complementary appetizers were offered. The only beef I had with the service is that there were two very large lunch parties dining at the same time as my small party and they occupied most of the servers time and tended to eat all the meat that a given server had before they could get to us. However, I wasn't in a hurry (who should be in a place like this?) so that really wasn't important to me. Last, don't go there expecting to impress your date with your command of Portuguese.. most of the servers appeared to be Romanians! Great folks, attentive and perfectly mannered servers, I'm a big fan of Romania and Romanians, but they're definitely not from Porto Alegre ;-)

The food was very good except the majority was pork and my husband doesn't eat pork. The only distraction is the service is overwhelming, they come to the table time after time, even if you chip is turned over for a rest period. I really couldn't enjoy my food with them coming to the table asking do I want more. I had to check my chip myself to assure that I had it turned over. However, it is worth the money. I took my son, he is 5 years old and he ate more then we did. I would recommend them to family & friends, overall the service was great so was the food. I would just suggest the staff to look at the chip before coming to the customers table. This was my family's first time at the restaurant and he was really happy, a great Father's Day Dinner.

Our group of 15 was seated immediately on a SAT. evening around 7:00 p.m. Very courteous staff that went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. Food was excellent and we did not have to ask for anything. They kept the meats coming so often we could not eat fast enough and had to ask them to return when we had room on our plates. The wait staff did not rush us even though we occupied the table for about 2-1/2 hours. I was very impressed with the service. My husband did not care for the dessert he ordered (nothing wrong with it.......he just misunderstood the description of it and it was not what he expected). The waiter offered twice to bring him different kind and he was so full he had to decline. Upon leaving the table the waiter presented him with a large box containing a nice portion of tiramisu to enjoy the following day and just insisted he wanted to ensure that we loved every aspect of our dining experience. Simply put....a wonderful evening. Wish they would bring one of these to Atlanta where I am from.

The salad bar was good! The meats are not so good! I'm a big fan of Lamb chops and this is not the place for them. On top of that, the meats (except for a couple) are not seasoned. My suggestion is if you're looking for a good salad and seafood buffet, I would say go for it! But, if you're looking to gorge on meat, go to Fogo!
