Great Food /Embarassing Washrooms
I'm Puerto Rican, born on the island, and have lived in the area since 1950. Took some out of town relatives, including non PR "southerners" who loved the Jibaritos but complained about the state of the bathrooms. Employees could be more friendly and helpful.

good food, cruddy service!
it's just that too, good food & cruddy service...i guess some things will never change, like the bad attitudes you get from there...it's too bad their good food, has to be served up with bad attitudes!

Horrible Customer Service!
As a Boricua I take pride in my food and this restaurant provides very good Puerto Rican food. However, I can't say the same for their customer service. To begin with, the cashiers are everything but friendly both over the phones and in person. Secondly, it often takes a long time to get ones food. Thirdly, it is horrible that employees get yelled and repremanded in front of customers. Otherwise the food is good!

Great Caribbean food
First, I was impressed with the assortment of dishes on the huge board displaying the menu. Second, the service was quick and the food was served steaming and very fresh. Third, the servers were rushed due to the amount of clients who poured in at mid-day. Fourth, the price was right. I went there two months ago, and I'm going back tomorrow, and bringing a friend who has eaten there before.

Bad attitude included with every order!
Ok, I really like their food but they seem to hire those with nothing more than a GED. Employees think their doing you a favor just for taking your order! This place is like ED Debivicks. For the prices they charge they should at least show you some respect. Location on California is the worst, followed by the one on Central. The one on Western is OK sometimes. Good Food. Terrible Attitude.

Embarrasing
As a Puerto Rican it embarrases me that this place still exists. The attitudes of those that work here is near criminal. The food is super pricey compared to other authentic puerto rican restaurants in the area or beyond. As for taste, it varies...somedays it's ok and others it wasn't worth dealing with the workers. The atmosphere is dingy and dim, and most tables are not picked up until way after someone has left. The waitresses are terrible and could care less about you being a customer! Although the restaurant does get alot of traffic, it's mostly becuase it's the nearest puerto rican restaurant in Humboldt Park...since a majority of others have shut down due to a significant rise in rental or mortgage costs. This place is not worth spending your money at...your best bet is go the distance and drive to Bruquena on Fullerton..that food is good and cheap, although the facility is not that great, the food is worth it.
