Had the pasteles today, and I was disappointed. They were dry, my husband and daughter ordered the sancocho, and they got some sort of stew with pig feet not the beef as the menu stated, and there was none of the vegetables in the so-called stew that should have been. Will definitely stick to the one on Central even if it is considered a "Fast Food" type of restaurant.

Well the food is great and there's quite a selection, but the service was not good! I actually went to this place for a school project and was really excited to eat. It was my first time going so I wasn't sure of how they ran the place. Once my party had ordered we waited for what seemed like 3 hours but was really 35 minutes, which isn't much better since there were only 3 of us all having just jibaritos and only about 4 other people in the whole restaurant. Then we wanted to get the check and that took about another 15-20 minutes. If you need a quick bite to eat I suggest any place but this one.

We just had our food delivered and it arrived quicker than they told us! It came hot and delicious. The puerto rican stew is fabulous and the chicken off the bone jibarito is one of the best I have had in the city... And mind you I am married to a puerto rican. Pleasant experience for very good puerto rican food at a good price.

Starting from the time u walk in to the minute u leave the waitresses act like are bothered by ur presense. Also, the girls at the register sit there n will be talkn to each other about personal issues n dont even smile or say thank u. Its really annoying. I was there and I had to wait for my food for over 15min mind u that my friends had already been served. Then when I got my food she handed it to me with such a bad attitude. I was so disgusted that a vowed never to spend my hard earned money there again!! Times are hard n if I am spendind my money I would at least like good service, seeing as though it is our money that is paying those undeserving of a tip waitresses n checkout girls!! I will miss the food but I will find somewhere else to go..... What a shame :(

The jibaritos at this place are delicious! So is the chicken soup! But do not expect great or even good customer service.

I'm Puerto Rican, born on the island, and have lived in the area since 1950. Took some out of town relatives, including non PR "southerners" who loved the Jibaritos but complained about the state of the bathrooms. Employees could be more friendly and helpful.
