Borinquen Restaurant II

I went there because we were regulars from the other location that they had. We were first given bread & butter but the waitress stated that they had no butter knives so I was given a Steak knife. I then ordered the "Signature Plate", a Jibarito de Lechon. Oops, no Lechon. It's only 5:00pm and no Lechon? Ok, so I ordered the Steak Jibarito with no Tomato and my wife ordered the same but without Tomato & cheese. Waitress brought it back but paused and turned around towards the bar. She had her back towards us as to hide something. The waitress had no clue which sandwich was which. She then opened my sandwich with her bare hand (not sanitary at all). She then turned around and handed us our plates. I did not eat that portion of the sandwich because I do not know where her hands were. We paid our bill (left her a good tip) and left for good. We will definitely not dine here or cater from them (we do 8 to 10 large caterings every year).

Best Puerto Rican food! Been to several places in Chicago & none compare to here. Food is very fresh & prices are very good. Been coming to Borinquen for years & have never been disappointed.

We went to the first location every week for years and the food was excellent. They moved locations and the quality of food is even better. I do miss them he atmosphere of the first one but this is more of a sit down and be served restaurant so it's perfect for date night or just to go any day of the week. We absolutely love this place and never had a bad experience. We continue to go to this place for the steak jibaritos =)

This place is horrible, not only did they not answer the phone after calling numerous times to place an order but then on top of it I get there order food to go and they take like 45 mins, I might as well of dined in! Then I get home and eat with my family and there jibaritos are horrible! Platanos are hard, dry and old. I thought I was going to break a tooth biting into it. I mean to wait there that long to eat that! I was very disappointed! I'm Puerto Rican and it's a shame to call that a Puerto Rican resturant! Don't waste your time people or money!

I visit this nice place recently .I was very happy since i open the door , they welcome us , asked us for a place we want to seat at. They were very pleasant , timely, and our food was delicious and on time . Employers were kind and professional.

It's some of the best puerto rican food in Chicago.I've only been to 5 puerto rican restaurants in Chicago, and this is the best in flavors, textures, quantity, and cost in my experience.
