bonjour bonjour
It's pick and choose here. The fancier pastries are very pretty, but on the expensive side. Their everyday items, such as croissants, pan au raisin, breakfast bun are delightful and not expensive at all. Their sandwiches, I am hooked on their croques, are incredible! Soups are very good too. Always fresh. The owners are french. Real french! The lady doesn't speak english and pretty much has a scowl on her face, sniping at her staff (which all speak french as well!). In outdoor season, the best location in Hyde Park, abutting a nice courtyard with wrought iron tables to sit at. Magnifique!

Mediocre coffee
It is a cafe and bakery... yet they don't know how to make an iced espresso drink, AND they charged $7 for it. Their pastries are ok.

A little slice of Europe
This is a wonderful place to enjoy fresh pastries or a cup of excellent, fresh ground and fresh brewed coffee with friends. It does run a little on the pricey side, but patrons get what they pay for - and then some.

Love their pastries!
The sandwiches are just ok, but some of their pastries are amazing. Especially the fruit tarts. As for the atmosphere, it's great when the weather's nice since you can sit right outside in the plaza courtyard; but it sucks in the winter. Definitely should drop by if you are on the southside and craving some sweets!
