Had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat and didn't care based on the reviews I read. I am glad to have waited. The salmon benedict was excellent, and the cranberry pancakes made me want to slap everyone in the building. Its so good, I'm actually making plans to drive from 3hrs away for a couple of days and I will be there for breakfast everyday...Plus Nichole is gonna make me do it!

I just love Bongo Room! I really love their pancake dishes, many of which consist of a flavored pancake accompanied by a sauce. One of the best pancake dishes I've ever had was their blueberry pancakes with almond panna cotta sauce. What I also love is that, in addition to their standard portion size of three pancakes, you can order smaller portion sizes of one or two pancakes at reduced cost, which makes it easy to try several different dishes. The servers have always been friendly and efficient, despite their often young age. A very special place for any pancake lover!

Visiting for the weekend from out of town, and found this place online. Showed up on Saturday around 10:30 am, and they were on a half hour wait. Decided to leave and come back on the next day. Went back Sunday at 8:45 am and found a line outside waiting for them to open. Very glad I waited. The banana pancakes with vanilla cream and berry coulis were unusual and delicious, and quite surprisingly not too rich. Service was very attentive - waiter/food/check arrived quickly, coffee/water refilled numerous times, etc. Great place. Wish we had one back home.

I went to the Bongo room last weekned, and was very impressed with the creative pancake selections on the menu. I chose the lemon pancakes with raspberry coulis. The pancakes were a bit on the thick side, but overall, they were pretty good. The lemon cream that comes on top is sinfully delicious!

The Bongo Room is full every weekend... of tourists and people who don't yet know any better, and people who fancy themselves cooler for eating there. The food is delicious, and not the problem. The waitstaff and hosts at the Bongo Room are apparently under the impression that they work at a much more important restaurant: "Oh, lady with a stroller... hmmm... you're not on the list right now" as if Lindsey Lohan is due for that table just any second. It's pretty, and so is the food, but don't be fooled by the faux hipster facade. Save your money and support the better restaurants of the south loop.

This place is packed on weekends for a good reason. Come before 9 or it is hopeless if you want to eat quickly. More inventive menu than you get at most (inexpensive) brunch places.
