There hasn't been t time that I have eaten here that I have been happy, compained so many times that the food is COLD and nothing is ever done about it The attitude of one of the female mgrs is, so what. I got an order to go once, it was all wrong, so done with this resturant and their bad cold food.

I am not one to write a review, but I agree with one of the other writers that I owe it to my fellow diners to share my terrible experience. Learn from my mistake people! Blue Agave was recommended by the hotel where I was staying. What a disappointment. First of all, not to sound like an old person but it was so loud in there I had to strain to hear my family. The service was subpar. We waited an hour and a half for our food. That is not an exaggeration...we clocked it. When the server took our order she told us the kitchen was a little behind, but we had no idea! We had to beg for water refills and we never did get our chip basket replenished. It was only when we threatened to leave that our food came....cold. There are so many other wonderful places to eat in Chicago. Avoid this one.

I went here because I bought a discounted gift certificate. Even at the discounted rate, the food was not worth it. I had the Burrito Cancun, which had tilapia and shrimp in it. Both were overcooked, flavorless, and either had a stringy texture (the tilapia) or were hard as a rock (the shrimp). The only flavor in the dish came from tremendous amounts of lime juice. I literally started puckering from the tartness. From this, and the fact that the food came out alarmingly quickly, I surmise that the dishes are prepared far in advance and is then microwaved. Either that, or they cook microwave dinners (though those usually taste better). If you just want to get some drinks, the place might be okay, but do not go for the food.

This restaurant came highly reccomended to me....Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The margaritas were decent, but that was the only redeeming aspect of the meal. I am not usually motived to write reviews, but my experience tonight was so unforuntate that I felt a duty to my fellow man to get to the keyboard as soon as possible. I ordered tacos and the quality was inferior to my usual Run for the Border at Taco Bell. The ground beef was was bland, and the hard shells were soggy. Fortunately, I was able to pay extra for a side of sour cream to drown out the blandness of the meat The service was about as decent as you would expect at any bar/restaurant. But the food was so far below expectations, I will never go back to Blue Agave. Boo to you, Blue Agave!
