Bistro Voltaire

Walked in and felt like we were in Paris. Incredible, romantic ambiance. Small, intimate room, noise level very low. We try to go a least once a week. Service is outstanding. Our waiter is Stephen who is lay back yet always available whenever we need anything. Prices are resonable.

My husband and I have been to this great new spot three times now and it has been consistent and and excellent value. What sets it apart to us has been the personal service. The Chef has stopped by to thank us and ask our feedback and that has made the difference as opposed to other Frenchie-type places. The wine list is limited but all French whcih is unique and daring. I disagree with the post about the bread- it was the same as a lot of the other French places in the city- excellent. Not to nit-pick, but as francophile eaters in Chicago, it could not ber better. Tres bien!

Small menu, quiet atmosphere, excellent foie gras appetizer & enough for several to taste,mussels ordinary, risotto rather bland, peaches on the tart were not ripe & pastry partially uncooked. Service fine. Tuesday, wines under $70 were half price. Bread was not fresh. I would not return nor recommend. There are too many other better bistros nearby.

Classic bistro decor with a masculine edge. Think Parisian steak house in the center of River North. A delicious addition to the neighborhood! Authentic menu...I wanted to try everything!
