hot and uncomfortable
Decor was pretty and interesting, but sitting on couches and low ottomans at a tiny table in a hot restaurant with very slow service was not a pleasant experience. Four of our five party had food they enjoyed, the fifth found her food inedible (rib-eye cooked like shoe leather , pesto pasta dry and sticky). Table was so small and low we had to hold plates in our laps to eat.

The new "IT" restaurant.
Second time at Between... first time was ok.. but wanted to give it a seecond chance. This time on a weekend. We waited for over an hour for a table, but was worth it when we got a couch-table. Food was amazing this time.. I think because Radhika was there cooking... and the staff was great; not pretentious or snooty... very casual and personal. It's refreshing to see servers that do not have a 'standard' uniform but wear whatever they want. Great music, great food. They did ask us to leave our table for guests who wanted our table after 3 hours... but it was fine since we went to the bar to resume our night. Going back soon.

Misses the mark
I went to Between with 5 of my friends the other day, and we were all slightly dissapointed. The drinks were horrendous...there were 2 drinks (the 'betweeni' and the 'perfect pear') which no one could even sip down. Disgusting. The food was better, but each dish seemed to miss the mark. The Duck Samosas were 'ok', but needed another ingredient to give it that extra pizzaz. Every dish was lacking something, but none of the dishes were "bad". But, the food was overpriced. For what they charge, I would expect well crafted dishes which show a chef's maturity and expertise. Nowadays, you can call anything 'fusion', and combining that with a few indian spices leads to 'exotic'. Hogwash... Ask any taxi driver to take you to a late night pakistani dhabha, and you'll get better food at 1/5 the cost. I'm quite serious. Between suffers from an ambitious menu which just doesn't have the ution required to keep people coming in. I applaud the utive chef for attempting to a fantastic menu...it reads well. But, each dish needs some work. The blackberry chutney just doesn't go with the samosas. The lamb chops (perfectly cooked) has no applicable relish. The manchego crepes are bland. The best dish on the menu were the mantau burger and fries... I didn't hate it...but, wouldn't pay that much to go back.

brunch at between
I was visiting Chicago this weekend and had the opportunity to try the Sunday brunch here. We first started off with the guavarita, which was excellent. I ordered the creme brulee french toast I thought the consistency and texutre were a bit off-putting. We also ordered the frittata which was absolutely delicious it had a very nice flavor and the goat cheese on top was just the right touch. The ambience/decor were nice, and overall it was a good experience.

A great place!
I am from New York and was in Chicago visiting my boyfriend. We got to know about the place at the W hotel where we were staing. When I got there I was amaized! The place is sooooo beautiful! The owner was super nice and the staff was very friendly. Good drinks, great food! They take service to an other level! The owner also gave us a lot of tips on places where we could continue our night! Between was a perfect night out!

AMAZING
My friends and I ate at Between the other night and it was amazing. It was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The menu options are limited and at first seemed kind of regular, burgers, onion rings, chicken and waffles. However, those were the best burgers, onion rings and waffles I have ever tasted. The chef, whom we met and talked to for a long time, adds so much flavor to the breading, the burgers and the fries that it makes every dish and explosion of flavors. Not only did she make dessert on the house but she brought it out herself. I recommend this lounge to everyone. I will be going back very soon.
