What? No birthday cake?
Six of us ate at Benny's Saturday night for a big birthday. The appetizer foie gras was melt-in- your-mouth, the hamachi sublime and the oysters fresh as could be. Steaks, crab legs ($91 was market price for 24 ounces), Dover sole boned table side and short ribs were great. The hardest decision was sides...so we chose lobster mac and cheese, truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus, lobster risotto and Brussels sprouts (the only disappointment). Forks were flying!! Lots of wine (the sommelier was very helpful), lots of leftovers and too stuffed for dessert but after a pretty hefty tab the least they could have done is bring over a piece of cake with a candle and 6 forks! We would definitely recommend Benny's.

Excellent for lunch
As a white-table cloth restaurant should be, Benny's is at the top. Service and food was great.

Best Porterhouse in Chicago
Why does Benny's Chop House have the Best Porterhouse in Chicago? Its simple - USDA prime cuts, chosen from Midwest cattle, marbled to pink perfection, dry-aged and cooked with an ideal tenderness to charred ratio. Or lets just go with they are that damn good. A must try for all you meat lovers.

Great Place!!
Excellent food. We started with their fish salad which was outstanding and I ordered a few pasta sides and greens to go along with my Ribeye. My wife had a great piece of fish as well. All of the food was outstanding. Also we got a great bottle of wine reccomendation! I found this place by accident because the Stanley Cup was coming out of Benny's one Friday when I was going to lunch.

Best Ribeye in Chicago
My Bone in Ribeye was the Best Texas Style Ribeye that I have ever had. It was tender and about an inch thick. I read a few positve reviews and some bad reviews about Benny's Chop House but I decided that you have have to say what the heck and see what everyone is talking about Good or Bad. Benny's Chop House is a very elegant restaurant with excellent service. The Steak I had was extraordinary and I added grilled asparagus which was devine. Some people can talk food but I live it everyday and Benny's Chop House is a must visit when dining in Chicago. I Highly Recommend them!

Low quality steaks
Anxious to try this "new" steakhouse run by reputable Chicago names, we were disappointed in the quality of steaks. The bone-in ribeye was barely chewable it was so tough. The fillet was about a 1/2 inch thick. Sides were just ok, creamed spinich was very heavy on nutmeg. Hash browns tasteless and lukewarm. Foie gras and carpaccio were good as appetizers. Southern fried lobster was rubbery overcooked. When I asked the waiter if they served certified angus beef, his only response was prime. Wrong answer. Service was very attentive, excellent wines and drinks. Sommelier was personable, knowledgeable and attentive. Noise level high.

The Best service in town
the food was abundant and the quality was great. what amazed me is how accomodating and professional both the servers and staff were within such a short period of time for having only been open a week. Kudos to jonathon and staff- we will definately return!
