While staying at the Waldorf, we dined here for breakfast last week. It is expensive as hotel restaurants tend to be. The food quality was very good and the service likewise. We will return for dinner sometime.

My girlfriend and I had a private and romantic night on a Monday at Balsan. Extremely attentive and personable service. Only two out of six dishes underwhelmed, (gnudi and tuna crudo). The Tart Flambe, oysters, rabbit rillette and foie with honeycomb and a dense brown bread, all made up swimmingly for the two remedial offerings. The crackers were soft in the middle, but the bread and honeycomb made you forget about it. There are only so many chances to spend a significant amount of money at quality places like Balsan, so peanut gallerists like us will never become regulars there, (and will be forced into taking every opportunity to eat out, as a chance to branch out) but for those out there with the funds, I envy, and hope you don't screw up your chance at being a part of a charming childhood... Plus, puberty is always worth a couple laughs.
