    Great food and perfect for the whole family!

    I wanted to take my family visiting from out of town to an authentic Italian restaurant. Bacchanalia was the obvious choice. My family can be picky sometimes but this restaurant is always willing to make a special request or will even make an entrée not on the menu if possible. We began our feast with garlic shrimp cocktail and bruchetta caprese. The garlic shrimp were small popcorn like shrimp smothered in a a garlic oil with mixed spices and it was succulent. The bruchetta caprese was on freshly toasted bread with a fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. We were fighting for the last piece at the table. This place’s flagship entrée is chicken vesuvio. Two of us ordered that, one of us tried the shrimp vesuvio, and one ordered chicken breast parmigiana. As usual the chicken vesuvio was delicious. The chicken always falls right off the bone, no need to use a knife or your hands. The vesuvio potatoes that come with it are also fabulous. I tried one of the shrimp vesuvios, and it gives the chicken a run for its money. They are very large lightly battered shrimp that are then topped off with the signature vesuvio sauce. The chicken parmigiana was also delicious. It was a large chicken breast covered with red sauce and cheese. We finished our meal with freshly filled cannolis. We absolutely love coming to this place for the family feel, but most of all, the food.

    Topped The Bear Game!

    I went to the a preseason Bear game last night. A perfect night for a game-weather and a Win. But, before we went to Bacchanalia on South Oakley. The meal was a TEN! Fried Calamari (a real nice generous portion) cooked to perfection. Baked clams to die for! (The Bread smoothered in the clams juice-a most try) I had the Italian Salmon with risoto as a side DELICIOUS! My wife had a Chicken Breast Capresse-freshest ingredients. Owner said her mom grows the basil in the summer months. They also sent us a side order of pasta in vodka sauce-a nice touch to our meal. Nice tiramisu and crisp delicious cannoli accompanied with a Cappucino with Frangilico made the meal an Eleven. This unique little restaurant ROCKS! I will go back more often, because it is an awesome place.

    A neighborhood find in Pilsen

    We had a wonderful meal here last night - great service, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food - our favorites: Chicken Bacchanalia, gnocchi, lobster ravioli, and the bruschetta. When you are ready to ditch the trendy expensive spots downtown, it's worth the trip to head to Bacchanalias- Our new favorite spot.

    Can't Beat This Place

    Delicious Food! I can't believe this restaurant, taste just like my late grandmother's Sunday Dinners. You have to experience it here. My favorite plates are Tomato Onion Capres, Fried Calamari, Baked Clams all appetizers. Minestrone or Itlian Bean Soup, for Entrees Veal Paremsean, Chicken Scalopini, Breaded Steak Sandwich, Meat Ravioli, Lasagna, and GREAT Steaks, Dessert Cannoli & Chocolate Mousse. Satisfaction Guaranteed!

    Best HomeStyle Italian cooking

    I had a great meal yesterday, Valentine's Day here. It reminded me of my grandmother's and aunt's cooking from years ago. We started with a wonderful Antipasto and an Aranceno Ball. (An Italian Rice Ball,Absolutely Delicious)I had the Italian Fried Chicken with the best freshcut homemade fries(a must try)Just like my nonna use to make it. My friend had a Filet Mignon and side pasta ,the filet was smoothered with fresh mushrooms in an awesome sauce. It was better than most steakhouses around have. (another must try!!) The desserts were very good, my canoli was fresh and crisp, the tirimisu was just like my aunt made (very different than the norm. I really enjoyed this small restaurant, the owner was so nice -very simpatica. This restaurant gets a BIG Thumbs UP!! Mangia

    Picture Perfect Italy

    This is my favortie place to dine Italian. Wonderful date place. Food is exceptional!! Baked Clams to die for and Chicken Vesuvio Amazing!!! Any veal dish is worth it. Gives you one of the best experiences to dine, makes you feel like a party of Italy. Recommend to all!!!
