Ceviche is a MUST
Look past the exterior as the dining room and patio are a nice surprise. Just an FYI - it’s a small place and you will smell like fried food when you leave. Hands down - the BEST Ceviche in Chicago. Biggest serving for the price (you could order it as an entree) and it is very fresh. All other dishes kind of taste the same but over all are good. I would recommend reservations as it is small and very crowded. Even with a reservation - you will wait 10-20 min. Nice option - you will be surprised - worth a try!

amazing hidden gem!
I went to Ay Ay Picante for my birthday last night and we had an amazing dining experience. Free BYOB is awesome, service was PHENOMENAL, the server made excellent authentic Peruvian recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, dimly lit w/ acoustic Peruvian music playing. Really, just an overall wonderful package - we could have sat there for hours drinking our wine. You wouldn't think from the outside, but inside is BEAUTIFUL. Thank You!

Best Peruvian Dishes
Ok, my husband and i have passed this place many times, so we decided to give it a try (base on so many wonderful reviews). Calamaris ... yes they are good crispy and tender Parihuela ..... soup, fantastic flavor, it comes with seafood Avocado stuffed with shrimp .... love the presentation, great idea, avocado stuffed with vegetables, shrimp, on a bed of lettuce. This dish was d base on a clients request. :) Ceviche .... i had the ceviche mixto, a combo of seafood salad marinated in lime juices, it was a bit spicy.... simply the best flavor!!! i didnt share it. Service is fantastic, very quick and organized, Place it self is very romantic, good choice of candle lights on the tables, as you get seated you get warm bread with a green sauce (spicy) that goes weel with every meal.

Best Calamari in Chicago!
we went there for dinner last night and there was 4 of us. we love BYOB places. We all loved the fried calamari. It is the best in Chicago. I am big fried calamari fan. My husband and I loved the sopa a la minuta: beef broth with angel hair pasta and egg soup. Very yummy. The food and service was great. My only complain is the open kitchen. At times, the fume from the kitchen was overpowering. I smelled like food leaving there. Definitely will return. Will try to sit as far as possible from the open kitchen.
